New Lifevest and Pool Fun 7/21/2007

Zoey in her new Lifevest. Isn't it cute? She doesn't look happy to be all wet.

Kacie had to hold the boat because Zoey almost fell out trying to drink the water.

Zoey would swim to Daddy and then climb to "higher ground" to avoid the water.

Her "swimming" caused a lot of splashing water, but she didn't mind it too much.

She would only calm down in the water when I would hold her like this in the water.

Besides, Kacie had stole her boat!

All in all, a fun summer activity, but we'll see how well Zoey's likes it next summer!

Zoey's New Boat for the Pool 7/18/2007

Grandma got a pool for her birthday as a surprise when she got home from the annual backpack trip in the Uintas. Zoey didn't have a lifevest yet, so we bought her a little boat to ride around in. I'm not sure she was very thrilled to be in the pool.

We pushed her around the pool a bit, but she kept wanting to drink the water. Grandma took the pictures since Bill and I were in the pool.

Anniversary Trip to LC Ranch 4/7-9/2007

For Bill and I's first anniversary, we took Zoey and stayed in this cabin on the lake for a weekend. This was where we had out Honeymoon and thought it would be nice to go back.

Zoey was checking out everything, but she did not like the circular staircase that took you up to the bedroom. She threw a fit every time one of us would have to pick her up and carry her up them.
Here she is standing. She always dances on her hind legs and I finally caught it on camera.

We lit a fire the first night and had to keep Zoey on a short leash as she kept wanting to chase the sparks.
Saturday, we went for a walk around the lake and Zoey is examining the smells of the local wildlife.
Zoey hiding in Bill's shadow.

Getting back to the cabin after exploring our surroundings. Here Zoey is with Bill. Doesn't she just make him look manly?!

After our walk, Zoey and I went down to the lakeside to check out the water. She was a little leary of it at first and kept sticking her face in the dirt.

Here she is licking dirt off her nose.

I finally made her get in the water.

Here she is with more dirt on her face and her tongue hanging out.

A good picture of Zoey in the water.

After our walk and playing in the water. Zoey and I decided to take a nap. Bill took the pictures for once.

What a pathetic puppy...

At our fire that night, we roasted marshmellows and let Zoey have a taste.

Her marshmellow ended up all over my hand and her face.

Last, we tried eating it off the stick... she still got messy, but loved every minute of it!

Target Shooting by Utah Lake 2/10/2007

This is the first time we took Zoey out target shooting with us to see how she would react to the gun shots. She really didn't care about the noises at all. She found a place to sit and was content to watch the rest of us.

Here she looks almost bored.

She did like it more when we wouldn't leave her to herself though. Here is Grandpa, Nana, Grandma and Aunt Kacie getting ready to shoot.

Very curious what is in my backpack. I do believe her treats were in there.

Here they all are. Grandma, Kacie, Nana, Grandpa, Zoey, Pops, and Bill.

I was afraid Zoey would get cold with the wind, so I let her use my jacket.

Zoey's E.T. impression...

At Home 2/6/2007

Zoey thinking about attacking Bill's hand.

Zoey's close-up! (I don't think Bill knew I got him in the picture!)

These are Zoey's favorite bones, to this day. She got this first one from our friends, Danny and Kim. It is a cow knuckle and she will chew on this for hours and will not be distracted.

New Harness 1/27/2007

After some much needed research on the internet, I determined that Zoey needed a harness instead of a collar. It told me that pugs (and bulldogs) have delicate necks since they have such short, broad necks and that a collar can hurt their neck. This is Zoey in her new harness. She inherited this one from her friend Izzy, who is a bulldog, who out grew it within a week. That is why it looks brand new! I was also glad it was pink, because that way people don't mistake her for a boy!

Also, these pictures show that Zoey is a messy eater. The weird thing is that she prefers to eat her food off the floor! She will take it out piece by piece now and then eat it off the floor. Strange puppy.

Zoey's First Christmas 12/25/2006

Zoey's first Christmas, she was trying to get Aunt Kacie out of bed so she could open her presents. Grandma thought it was silly that the "present" (being Zoey herself) had presents of her own already, but Zoey liked having toys to play with. She is wearing her first collar, which she quickly grew out of.

Zoey's First Day Home 12/23/2006

This is the first picture we have of Zoey. She is eight weeks old here and checking out here new home. Zoey was a Christmas gift from Grandma. Her first day as a Tarbox was spent at a family Christmas party where she got to meet all her Second cousins and Great Grandma kept caller her "Doughy". (She's having a hard time hearing lately.) She is the first grandchild/pug and is loved by everyone.

This is Zoey snuggling with daddy. She soon learns that daddy is the only one with a wide enough shoulder to curl up on, therefore being her favorite spot to sleep.

This was the first place she curled up to sleep after the long car ride home from the breeders' home. Of course, she had already slept on mommy's lap in the car the whole time!

Zoey's first meal at home. I love this picture, because it shows her unique coloring, which I later found out is called "smutty" since she is not pure fawn and has black hairs throughout her back.
