Anniversary Trip to LC Ranch 4/7-9/2007

For Bill and I's first anniversary, we took Zoey and stayed in this cabin on the lake for a weekend. This was where we had out Honeymoon and thought it would be nice to go back.

Zoey was checking out everything, but she did not like the circular staircase that took you up to the bedroom. She threw a fit every time one of us would have to pick her up and carry her up them.
Here she is standing. She always dances on her hind legs and I finally caught it on camera.

We lit a fire the first night and had to keep Zoey on a short leash as she kept wanting to chase the sparks.
Saturday, we went for a walk around the lake and Zoey is examining the smells of the local wildlife.
Zoey hiding in Bill's shadow.

Getting back to the cabin after exploring our surroundings. Here Zoey is with Bill. Doesn't she just make him look manly?!

After our walk, Zoey and I went down to the lakeside to check out the water. She was a little leary of it at first and kept sticking her face in the dirt.

Here she is licking dirt off her nose.

I finally made her get in the water.

Here she is with more dirt on her face and her tongue hanging out.

A good picture of Zoey in the water.

After our walk and playing in the water. Zoey and I decided to take a nap. Bill took the pictures for once.

What a pathetic puppy...

At our fire that night, we roasted marshmellows and let Zoey have a taste.

Her marshmellow ended up all over my hand and her face.

Last, we tried eating it off the stick... she still got messy, but loved every minute of it!

Zoey's Kitty Friend 3/6/2007

We had a stray cat roaming our neighborhood and Bill brought it in for some food. She and Zoey were playing on the bed. Thankfully, its owner lived a few houses down, so she wasn't a stray for long.

Hiding Out 2/7/2007 Afternoon

Zoey was hiding in my box of stuffed animals. I think she stands out from the rest, just a bit.

Oops! Caught in the act!

One of these things is not like the other. One of these things just doesn't belong... (She's the cute one.)

Zoey also has a love for leaves. Every time she went outside, she would try to bring a leaf back in the house. This time she was successful.

Playing with Jersey and Chesty 1/28/2007

We took Zoey to Nana and Pops' house to play with her "cousins," Jersey and Chesty. On the way there we realized we hadn't brought any toys for Zoey to play with (so she would leave my niece's toys alone), so we stopped at PetSmart and bought this fleece rope toy for all the dogs to play with.
Jersey is the boxer and she is just a little older than Zoey and growing like crazy. Chesty is the bulldog and she is usually lazy until you tell her to "get the toy;" then, she has to have the toy and no one else can.

Bill was the anchor in this game, which is a feat against those two... Zoey wasn't too much help!

Zoey thought she could take them all on.

This was one of my favorite shots as it looks like Zoey is trying to just take on Jersey, while Chesty is still just trying to take it away from Bill.

Within mere minutes, the new toy was dead and Jersey thought she had won...

...but Zoey was not giving up yet!

Playing with Grandpa 1/27/2007

After getting her new harness, we took Zoey over to Grandma and Grandpa's, where she decided it was time to play with Grandpa and attack him. His only goal was to protect his head!

He's cheating! He know she loves to have her belly rubbed!

She was looking at me like "have you been taking my picture this whole time?".

Her last attempt at winning. Although he was holding her, she though she was flexible enough to still get him. Great mouth shot, which is deceiving, as she actually does have teeth!

Camera Happy 1/19/2007

This is when daddy turns Zoey into a turtle. She has a hard time rolling over sometimes, especially after he got her stuck in the crack in the couch cushions. Although now, Zoey thinks this is a more productive playing position as she gets to use all four paws against daddy's one!

This is Zoey and here Pooh slippers. They were a gift from Bill's mom to me for Christmas, but everytime I would wear them, Zoey would attack them. Eventually the noses were gone and they are now her toys. I already had to throw one out, and the other is not far behind it.
Daddy doesn't like his picture taken, and was trying to hide behind little Zoey. Apparently Zoey took the clue and tried to hide herself too!

Zoey in concentrating on the game. Bill would bounce his foot every so often and she would try to attack his shoelaces. She always makes this weird growling noise when she is attacking shoes, but it is only for shoes.

Daddy's Girl
This is Zoey just being mommy's little baby. To me, this is her impression of a baby sucking on her thumb.

Under this blanket is yet another heat vent. I guess when I left the blanket there I should have realized "someone" in the house would claim it as her newest napping spot.
