New Harness 1/27/2007

After some much needed research on the internet, I determined that Zoey needed a harness instead of a collar. It told me that pugs (and bulldogs) have delicate necks since they have such short, broad necks and that a collar can hurt their neck. This is Zoey in her new harness. She inherited this one from her friend Izzy, who is a bulldog, who out grew it within a week. That is why it looks brand new! I was also glad it was pink, because that way people don't mistake her for a boy!

Also, these pictures show that Zoey is a messy eater. The weird thing is that she prefers to eat her food off the floor! She will take it out piece by piece now and then eat it off the floor. Strange puppy.

Food 1/23/2007

This is the mess I had to clean up after every meal with Zoey. This is the joys of starting puppies out on soft, messy foods!

After a good meal, Zoey was hanging out with daddy on the couch.

She always has such a serious look on her face when I pull out the camera.

Camera Happy 1/19/2007

This is when daddy turns Zoey into a turtle. She has a hard time rolling over sometimes, especially after he got her stuck in the crack in the couch cushions. Although now, Zoey thinks this is a more productive playing position as she gets to use all four paws against daddy's one!

This is Zoey and here Pooh slippers. They were a gift from Bill's mom to me for Christmas, but everytime I would wear them, Zoey would attack them. Eventually the noses were gone and they are now her toys. I already had to throw one out, and the other is not far behind it.
Daddy doesn't like his picture taken, and was trying to hide behind little Zoey. Apparently Zoey took the clue and tried to hide herself too!

Zoey in concentrating on the game. Bill would bounce his foot every so often and she would try to attack his shoelaces. She always makes this weird growling noise when she is attacking shoes, but it is only for shoes.

Daddy's Girl
This is Zoey just being mommy's little baby. To me, this is her impression of a baby sucking on her thumb.

Under this blanket is yet another heat vent. I guess when I left the blanket there I should have realized "someone" in the house would claim it as her newest napping spot.

Favorite Places 1/13-15/2007

January was quite cold in Utah, so Zoey quickly learned that the heat vent was a great place to lay. She even slept on the heat vent in our bedroom for a while as it was the warmest spot in the room. Then she preferred the bed, so she could cuddle up to me or Bill.

This was another one of her spots to get warm. Every time Bill would lay down on the couch to read or play video games, Zoey would first try to get him to play, then when he wouldn't, she would relent and curl up in the small of his back.

I would often come home from work to find them just like this, taking a nap together.

Adjusting to a new Home 12/28-29/2006

Zoey has now been home for 5 days and has been adjusting well. She learned that she could get up on to the couch if I had a Christmas present pushed next to it for a step. She is a little curious about me taking her picture though.

She was not always the most cooperative when trying to get her picture when she was more interested in trying to catch her tail.

I had to include this picture as it is just the saddest, most pathetic face ever. How could you not just give her anything she wants?!

Here she is getting more comfortable with exploring things and wanted to chew on my camera string. You can see in the right side of the picture, a present that we let her use as a step. She will be very disappointed when Aunt Jessie has to open that present!

Here she is actually posing for a good picture. The bunny in the background was her first pick of my many stuffed animals. She occasionally steals one of mine and claims it as her own. This one I let her have since she was so insistent.

She is always curious about shoes. She especially likes to attack them when they have feet in them. We don't let her chew on shoes now, but I couldn't resist getting a picture before taking away daddy's shoe. It also shows just how small she is at this point.
